Ultimate Staffing is currently assisting our client in the Alpharetta, GA are in sourcing a Supply Chain Strategic Project Manager for their long-term contract opportunity. This role is responsible for leading and executing complex, cross-functional supply chain initiatives focused on cost savings, product transitions, and operational improvements. Acting as a strategic and hands-on leader, this individual will drive end-to-end planning and execution of supply chain programs-from charter through implementation. The position requires strong project ownership, deep supply chain expertise, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
- Location: Alpharetta, GA (preferred); hybrid flexibility available
- Duration: 9-12 month contract (potential to extend)
- Start Date: Targeting mid-July
- Work Hours: Standard business hours (approx. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Pay Range: $35-$38.48 BOE
Key Responsibilities (in descending order of importance)
1. Lead End-to-End Supply Chain Initiatives (35%)
- Own and execute large-scale cost savings and supply chain transformation projects from charter to completion
- Translate project charters into actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables
- Drive execution across supply chain functions including planning, procurement, and operations
- Ensure projects deliver against cost, service, and operational targets
2. Transition & Implementation Planning (25%)
- Develop and manage detailed supply chain transition plans for product changes, sourcing shifts, and cost initiatives
- Lead inventory strategy, pre-build planning, and SKU transition execution
- Ensure supply continuity through Customer Supply Protection Plans
- Support seamless integration into steady-state operations
3. Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment (20%)
- Partner with Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on project goals
- Act as the primary supply chain representative on transition and initiative teams
- Influence stakeholders and drive decision-making across functions
4. Tactical Execution & Problem Solving (10%)
- Operate as a "roll-up-your-sleeves" leader, actively driving deliverables-not just overseeing
- Identify risks, gaps, and inefficiencies and proactively implement solutions
- Balance strategic objectives with hands-on execution
5. Process Improvement & Metrics Development (10%)
- Develop and implement best-practice processes for supply chain transitions and project execution
- Establish performance metrics and reporting mechanisms
- Ensure sustainability and scalability of solutions across the organization
Minimum Requirements
Years and Type of Experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Proven experience leading end-to-end supply chain projects, including cost savings initiatives
- Strong background in project management and execution (not just oversight)
- Experience with production planning, inventory management, and supply chain transitions
- Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and/or R&D
- Background in CPG industry preferred (or similar fast-paced environment)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4, PLM or equivalent) is preferred
- Experience in financial or business analysis tied to supply chain initiatives
